The quiet and well kept holiday village of Mavikent lies between the pine woods and the sea, and is an ideal place to escape from the rush of modern life and unwind.
This is a secluded place, and you will need a spirit of adventure to make the journey - unless you prefer to take a taxi from the coach station in Silifke [ about a forty minute journey ]. When you drive over the hilltop and get your first glimpse of the sea beyond the pinewoods, there is a sense of excitement. You continue along the winding road down to the shore and then, at last, you see the little white village on the hill, like a gem set in the green of the larches. To your right is the private beach, but turn left up the road to the village, where the gardens are ablaze with colour.
